This remodel was a fun exercise in creative re-use. Trying to keep new materials to a minimum, we pillaged the “bone piles” of several contractors, and made good use of the local Exchange — the recycling branch of our solid waste facility.

Space was tight, so the two beds were tucked into lofts.

A sliding door separates the living/sleeping area from the kitchen/work area. We were able to salvage cabinets, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures and furniture. What we couldn’t salvage, we were mostly able to make out of scrap and framing lumber. The larger of the two sleeping lofts extends into the kitchen making a cozier space for the work/dining table.
